Conservation of the ancient wall of Bodhi at Viharegama Rajamaha Vihare

Viharegama Stupa is considered the Stupa where the remains of Sri Lanka's last Arahant Maliyadewa were buried. The Bodhi tree here is also considered one of the Dethis Phala Bodhi (thirty-two) trees. It was required to construct a new wall as per the ancient model for the protection of the other monuments and new constructions close to the same, keeping the ancient wall with large cracks in the same way. The restoration work was carried out for the granite wall, the seat on which flowers are offered, and the staircase in four steps, and the conservation work was finalized by filling the earth and spreading sand around the wall and in the compound of the bo tree. Provisions for the conservation work were provided by the temple.
