A workshop on the preparation of concept papers, in line with the proposed reorganization plan for museums administered by the Department of Archaeology, was held today (04 March 2026) at the Department’s auditorium.
The programme was organized by the Museum Division of the Head Office to enhance the knowledge and capacity of Regional Excavation and Museum Officers, Museum Officers, and Zonal Officers regarding the systematic preparation of concept papers.
The Director General of Archaeology (Acting), Mr. E.A. Senarath Wickramasinghe, conducted a comprehensive session on the key principles and essential considerations for drafting effective concept papers. His address emphasized the importance of clarity, strategic alignment, and adherence to institutional guidelines in the preparation process.
The Additional Director General (Administration) Ms Thusitha N.W. Ranasinghe, Director (Architecture) Mr Prasanna B. Rathnayake, and Chief Accountant Ms E.D.P. Alwis participated in the opening ceremony of the workshop.
