On May 2, 2024, the digital format obtained from the Dimbulagala inscription was started in collaboration with the Department of Archeology and the Postgraduate Institute of Archeology of the University of Kelaniya at the Postgraduate Institute of Archaeology, Colombo 7. Laser scanning, visual photography, and multi spectrum photography technologies have been used to obtain this digital copy.
The reading of the Dibulagala inscription began under the leadership of Dr. Malini Dias, former director of the Epigraphy and Numismatics Department of the Department of Archaeology, and Professor Karunasena Hettiarachchi, Department of History and Archeology, University of Sri Jayawardenepura.
