Neelagiri Stupa Restoration Project

The field investigations and  observation of the progress of Neelagiri Stupa which is being restored under the total supervision of Department of Archaeology with the leadership  of Presidential Task Force for Archaeological Heritage Management (Ministry of Defence) in the Eastern Province were carried out by the Secretary to the Ministry of Defence, General Kamal Gunaratne (Chief Trustee and First Trustee of Dighawapi Aruna Trust), the Chief Army Commander of Sri Lanka Lieutenant General Vikum Liyanage and  Sri Lanka Air Force Commander Air Vice Marshal Udeni Rajapaksa on 20.03.2024.

The members of Scholarly Advisory Committee of Dighawapi and Neelagiri Stupa Restoration Projects along with the Director (Architectural Conservations) of the Department of Archaeology participated in this occasion.
