Obverse

A copper Massa coin. This coin was issued during the reign of King Sahassamalla (1200-1202 AD). Around the coin is a concentric circular dot pattern. There is a stylized figure of a person clothed in a dhoti-like garment facing right, standing on a lotus stalk. On the head is a headdress. The right hand raised at the elbow has a flower. Five dot marks are below the elbow on this hand. There is a lamp or Srivatsa symbol under the left hand.

Reverse

Encircling the perimeter of the coin is a dotted border. Standing squatting on a bed-like throne, the stylized person is head oriented towards the right and wearing what looks like a dhoti. An object resembling a Sankha is held in the right hand, which is lifted at the elbow. The phrase "Srimath Sahassamalla" is inscribed in the Nagari script below this hand. The left hand is placed upon the knee of his bent left leg, at the hand distinctly showing five fingers.
