A Chinese coin.A coin belonging to the Qing dynasty (1644-1911). This coin was issued by Emperor Ren Zong (1760-1820). This is considered a rare coin. Around the coin is a solid unilinear circle. A square hole in the center of the coin. Around the hole is a solid line. Above, below, right, and left of the hole are 4 Chinese characters. Those characters (嘉庆通宝) spell jia qing tong bao. |

Around the coin is a solid unilinear circle. A square hole in the center of the coin. Around the hole is a solid line. There are two Manchu (Mongolian / Manchu) characters on both sides of the square hole. The letter on the right is the mint mark of the coin. |

It has been mentioned in the documents of the University of Kelaniya that it is assumed that it was found in the vicinity of the Jaffna Kantharodaya archeological site. |
