Obverse

A Chinese coin.A coin belonging to the Qing dynasty (1644-1911). This coin was issued by Emperor Ren Zong (1760-1820). This is considered a rare coin. Around the coin is a solid unilinear circle. A square hole in the center of the coin. Around the hole is a solid line. Above, below, right, and left of the hole are 4 Chinese characters. Those characters (嘉庆通宝) spell jia qing tong bao.

Reverse

Around the coin is a solid unilinear circle. A square hole in the center of the coin. Around the hole is a solid line. There are two Manchu (Mongolian / Manchu) characters on both sides of the square hole. The letter on the right is the mint mark of the coin.

Place of find

It has been mentioned in the documents of the University of Kelaniya that it is assumed that it was found in the vicinity of the Jaffna Kantharodaya archeological site.
